We’ve worked in a variety of industries, including the military, mining, aerospace, pulp, paper, petroleum, and chemical. We have been a manufacturer of PP pumps, industrial polypropylene pumps for severe duty, high pressure, and high tolerance applications.

PP Pumps, or polypropylene pumps, are widely used in areas where metal is not an option or for extremely corrosive substances. Polypropylene is well-known for its elasticity and durability and provides a high range of chemical resistance over many acids. The common applications include effluent treatment, corrosive liquid management, scrubbing, electroplating, etc. PP pumps provide significant benefits such as being economical, compact in size, and easy to maintain, as well as providing excellent protection against leakage and resistance to damage.

Our company has specialised as a leading manufacturer and suppliers of all types of pumps from mumbai, maharashtra. Our company is committed to producing high-quality PP Pumps, Polypropylene Pumps, Plastic Pumps and Nonmetallic Pumps for the Indian and export markets. All of our PP pumps are measured with high-quality standards to cover the widest range of applications and service support. Numatic Pumps offers a wide range of industrial PP pumps to meet all of your chemical process handling needs.

What are PP Pumps?

PP pumps are pumps whose wetted parts (casing, impeller, back plate) are made of polypropylene, a thermoplastic that resists many corrosive chemicals. They are used for chemical transfer, circulation and general industrial fluid handling.

Where are PP pumps used?

PP pumps are commonly used in chemical processing, electroplating, pharmaceuticals, wastewater treatment, textile processing, surface treatment and corrosive, acidic chemical liquids where metal pumps may corrode.

Common applications of PP pumps

  • Chemical industries: transfer of acids, alkalis, solvents, and chemicals
  • Electroplating & surface treatment: pickling, plating solutions, and chemical baths
  • Textile industries: dyeing, bleaching, and chemical processing
  • Pharmaceutical industries: chemical transfer and process applications
  • Water & wastewater treatment: dosing and transfer of corrosive chemicals
  • Fertiliser industries: handling various aggressive chemical solutions
  • ETP/STP plants: chemical circulation and transfer
  • Paper & pulp industries: handling bleaching and treatment chemicals
  • Battery industries: transfer of selected acidic chemical solutions
  • Chemical storage tanks: loading, unloading, and circulation of corrosive liquids

Advantages and limitations of PP pumps

Advantages: good chemical resistance, corrosion-free, lightweight, economical, low maintenance.

Limitations: not suited to very hot liquids (our standard range handles up to 70 °C) or to duties needing the mechanical strength of metal. Strong oxidising acids (such as concentrated nitric acid) and many chlorinated or aromatic solvents are not suitable for PP. Check compatibility on a chemical chart or with us before ordering. For higher temperatures or harsher chemicals, see our PVDF and SS pumps (link both).

Can PP Pumps handle acids and chemicals?

Yes, PP Pumps can handle many acids, alkalis and chemicals. However, compatibility depends on the specific chemical, concentration, temperature and operating conditions.

What types of PP Pumps are available?

What are the advantages of PP Pumps?

Key advantages include good chemical resistance, lightweight construction, corrosion resistance and suitability for many industrial chemical-transfer applications.

Are PP Pumps suitable for corrosive liquids?

They can be suitable for many corrosive liquids because polypropylene is resistant to a broad range of chemicals. Proper material compatibility should always be checked before selecting a pump.

Why choose PP pumps?

Excellent chemical resistance + corrosion resistance + lightweight construction + low maintenance make PP pumps a good choice for aggressive chemical applications.

Typical limitation: PP pumps are generally not preferred for very high-temperature liquids or applications requiring high mechanical strength compared with metallic pumps. The actual suitability depends on the chemical concentration, temperature, flow rate, and pressure.

For Numatic Pumps, PP magnetic drive pumps are especially useful where leak-free/sealless chemical transfer is required.

Top PP Pump Features:

• Prevent leaking and improve pump life.

• Extremely appropriate for wastewater treatment.

• Available in a variety of sizes, capacities, volt ratings, and other options.

• PP Pump provides maximum resistance to high resistance cracking and other corrosive conditions.

• Prevent resistance against alkalis, acids, organic solvents, electrolytic assault, and more.

• Can withstand low working temperatures up to 70 degrees Celsius and have a high strength-to-weight ratio.

Why Numatic Pumps?

Numatic Pumps manufactures and supplies PP Pumps in India, including PP Monoblock Pumps, PP Coupled Pumps, PP Magnetic Drive Pumps and PP AODD Pumps. Pump selection should be based on the chemical type, concentration, temperature, flow rate and required head to ensure material compatibility and reliable operation.
